Having registered their first ever win in the tournament, the Karachi Kings will be looking to continue with their momentum and make it two in two that should allow them something of a chance to fight for their chances of making it to the top four.

In their first two games, it was their poor batting that led to defeats before the third match saw them come back strongly with the bat but even then they fell just seven runs short of the Lahore score.

Their win against the Islamabad United was down to a bit of fortune in a lottery game – a rain-affected encounter that was reduced to 13 overs a side. And they did well to get to 75/4 in 9.4 overs chasing a score of 95 in 13 when the rains came down again and brought the curtains down on what might have been a close encounter. At that point, the Kings were ahead and were awarded the game.

Peshawar Zalmi have five points from five games, having won and lost two matches apiece, while one other game was abandoned due to rain. They started off with a defeat at the hands of the defending champions Islamabad United before they crushed Karachi in their second game. They made it two in three when they bowled Lahore out for 59 and chased them in a tough match before that abandoned game against Quetta.

Peshawar would have thought they had a chance of defending 136 against Islamabad but their opponents sneaked through to a close win off the last ball to leave them with their five points. Expecting Karachi to avenge their previous defeat at the hands of Peshawar in this game.

Among others Babar Azam, Shoaib Malik and Mohammad Amir will lead the Pakistani juggernaut to help the Kings to start as favourites.
