Islamabad United vs Karachi Kings 2nd Qualifying Final Predictions

Islamabad United vs Karachi Kings Eliminator PSL Match Prediction Mar 1 2017

Islamabad United Vs Karachi Kings (IU vs KK) preview is placed here. Karachi Kings will take on the Islamabad United in their Pakistan Super League knock-out Eliminator that will be played on Wednesday, March 1. This game will kick start at 8 pm local time (4 pm GMT or 9 pm Pakistan time).

Karachi Kings look favorites to win this game.

Three matches into the tournament, there were question-marks around the performances of the Karachi Kings and fans wondered if they would make the playoffs. By the time the league stage of the tournament had ended, the Kings had not only edged into the final four of the tournament but also managed to finish a respectable third, ahead of Islamabad.

Now that finishing third or fourth makes too much difference as far as the prospects of making the final are concerned, because both those teams get just one chance. You lose and you are out. But given what the side has gone through with their really slow start, it’s easy to see why the Kings will start as chuffed as they would be going into this encounter.

Karachi are coming off a rocking performance against the Lahore Qalandars who were a delivery away from knocking the Kings out of the tournament. Chasing 156 for a win that would have kept Karachi Kings alive in the tournament, they were left to score 28 from the final two overs and then 14 from the last over to keep that dream burning.

Just four runs came from the first four balls of the final over before Kieron Pollard smacked Aamer Yamin for successive sixes to win the Karachi Kings that game.

This was followed by the return to form for Chris Gayle as his 17-ball 44 meant his side chased down Islamabad’s total of 123 in 15 overs to not only march into the playoffs but also prevent the Islamabad United from making it to the top two spot.

Interestingly, Karachi Kings had won their previous game against Islamabad United as well, edging them out on Duckworth-Lewis system in a 13-over chase. That was Karachi’s first ever win in the tournament and they have come some distance from then on.

Islamabad did suffer from the struggles with the spot-fixing allegations but they came back strongly after that to post four wins from seven games before that rude shock at the hands of Karachi. The question now is whether they have any fuel left in the tank to challenge a very resurgent Karachi Kings side.
